Davis and I got married a Carillon Beach, Florida on August 18, 2007. We decided to have a destination wedding because we wanted to celebrate our wedding with our family and our closest friends. We are both from small towns/cities, and if we had had it at home, the festivities would have gotten out of control! Davis and I met in Panama City, so we wanted to have it around that area.
After searching for venues on the Emerald Coast of Florida, we decided on Carillon for many reasons. For one thing, there was a recommended list of vendors. It really cut down the time I spent on any decisions. There are so many talented people in this area, and the list made our choices easy! I couldn't have been happier with any of my choices!
For a photographer, we chose Vue Photography. Genya is not only an amazing photographer, but she is an amazing person! I cannot say enough good things about Vue Photography! She is a blast to work with! She makes the bride feel so excited about every little detail! Here are a few of our favorite shots that we think are unique to Vue Photography:

We chose Kim Pritchard's Dine by Design for catering. After she and I talked, we decided to do everything mini! She even had some fun ideas for a snow cone machine (which we desperately needed because it was quite hot in August in Florida) and a salad "bar."

Kim recommended Southern Style Desserts in Destin, Florida, to take care of our cake. Davis and I decided that we didn't care to have a normal cake, and Davis loves cupcakes, so we decided on a cupcake cake!
Our florists were the talents girls at Bella Flora. They combined all of my ideas (and there were lots!), and made everything absolutely beautiful!

(Yes, this is as small as it looks! All we could do was laugh! Proves that not everything goes the way you think it will on your wedding day, even if it is small glitches)
The Meeting House and Village Green is where we decided to have our ceremony and reception. Harry Houseman officiated the ceremony-I don't know how people get married there without having him do the ceremony! He was so much fun and kept the ceremony funny and quick-just the way we wanted it!
Davis and I chose not to have any attendants even though we are both blessed with so many amazing friends. We both wanted our friends to spend money on spending the weekend at the beach, not on a dress or suit. Everyone could do whatever they wanted that weekend without having to worry about a luncheon, getting their hair done, etc. Plus, the chapel didn't allow for much space up front except for the bride, groom, and preacher.

Our band was Relapse, a local band from Albany that has been around as long as I can remember. I have always said that I wanted them to play at my wedding. We actually moved our wedding date up a week so they could play!

We wanted to have some different sort of details with our invitation and our reception. Thanks to my mom with her help in making final decisions. I think we made at least 5 phone calls a day to discuss details. We both claimed that if we didn't call right then that we would forget the idea later! Also thanks to my stepmother for all of the help with the invitations, guest information books, and mini-instruments. Davis and I chose to fill sand buckets as our guest bags with bottle water, chapstick, sunscreen, shell-shaped chocolates, and other snacks. As our guestbook, we chose One Hundred Seashells instead of a traditional guestbook. We also provided our female guests with flip-flops, or dancing shoes. I know I like to dance at weddings, and by the end, my feet are aching! Davis and I chose to do a candy bar where guests could fill chinese take out boxes with assorted candies. My mom didn't believe that the candy bar would be such a hit, but of course, we ran out of candy!

Of course, Davis and I couldn't have a normal send off. Golf carts nor a car would do for us! Davis's family owns a large yacht, and we had planned to take off in it because it is where we met. However, the boat broke down a couple of days before the wedding. We decided to have "the little boat" send us off, but there wasn't any water close enough! Davis got the boat captain to pull us away behind the truck! I don't know if anyone can say that they have had such a send off!

By now, you are probably tired of looking at all of these pics, but here are a few more of our favorites:
