A Paint Party

This past weekend, I checked the weather, and it said it was going to rain all weekend. I thought this was the perfect chance to paint the guest room since we took the house off the market! This room hasn't been painted since we have moved in (5 years ago), and I decided it needed a face lift. It, of course, was sunny most of the weekend. Since I had already bought all the supplies and moved the furniture to the center of the room, I decided I would go ahead and throw a paint party for one.

Here is what the room looked like before:

I like tan, but this tan seemed to be on the yellow side. The previous owners loved yellow or anything with a tint of yellow. I decided to paint the room a grey, and I absolutely love the way it turned out, and I am so proud of my paint job! I will admit, after only one coat, I was scared I had picked the wrong color because it tended to look a little lavender.

After one coat (you can't tell by the picture, but it wasn't the right color):

Not only did I paint, but I did a little rearranging of the furniture. I am looking for a new chest to replace the one that is in there now, a new bedside table, and a new light fixture, so hopefully, I will have some more pictures to show you later! Here is the final product for now:

Although the paint party was fun, but tiring, we had an event happen this weekend that wasn't so fun. We lost a beloved member of our family. Our dog Suches past away this past Sunday from cancer. We had known that she was slowing down, but we thought it was just age catching up with her - she was 13 after all! Things have been so strange without "the boss" around. Suches, Sullivan, and Stella were like the 3 Musketeers. Since she was still active, the three of them did everything and went everywhere together! We will miss her greatly, but she never suffered and now she can run with Bell in heaven!
