Farm Weekend with Friends

This past weekend, my best friends from college and their significant others came to the farm! I was so excited to see everyone since it has been way too long!

Kim and Nick, Lauren and Ryals, Maggie and David, and Hollie got to the farm mid-afternoon.  We had a good time visiting, relaxing, and having a few drinks.

Later that night, we enjoyed some hamburgers and delicious sides courtesy of Maggie, Meredith, Lauren, and Kim. Meredith and Johnathan and Joe arrived just in time for dinner.

As soon as Meghan and Brian and Renee arrived, we decided we couldn't wait any longer to open presents! Who could resist all of these beautiful presents? For the first round, we had an ornament swap. Everyone gave such beautiful and unique ornaments! The next round was our secret santa swap, I had Maggie, and she had me! I received a signed copy of Dylan's Candy Bar:Unwrap Your Sweet Life, the Better Homes and Gardens Fast and Fresh Family Dinners cookbook, a precious Christmas banner, luggage tags, and some undies! Everyone gave and received so many great gifts-froms scarves to jewelry  to cookbooks to clothes!

While the girls chatted and tried to catch up, the guys played a little friendly game of poker. After catching up and a few games, it was time to rest up for the next full day of activities.

On Saturday, the guys got up early for a day of quail hunting. Davis and Rocky even got out the mules and wagon for an authentic hunt!

While the guys did their thing, us girls headed into Albany to Kim's and my house. Most of the girls hadn't seen Kim's house at all, and they hadn't seen mine since I have redone most of it. After checking out Albany's beautiful scenery, we headed back to the farm for a little wagon ride. It turned out to be a prefect afternoon-chilly but not too bad!

After our ride, everyone enjoyed some time shooting skeet or relaxing around a bonfire. There were a few friendly bets about who was the best shooter. Meredith beat Nick, and then turned around and beat her own husband too (which resulted in her winning a road bike!). Maggie beat her husband in a round too! Looks like the girls dominate the skeet shoot!

After another wonderful dinner, we started playing games. There were many hours of laughs!! A little after midnight, most of us headed to bed, while others enjoyed the fire outside and played a few pranks involving the deer dummy!

Everyone was exhausted from the day's activities.

I had SO much fun with all of my best friends and was so sad to see them go Sunday morning! We are now on the countdown until our next reunion!
