Coffee Filter Wreath

I was doing my daily blog reading the other day when I found the idea for a Coffee Filter Wreath over on The Nesting Place. I am not usually one to take on a DIY project, but I thought I would give this one a try. For once in my life, I finished a DIY project, and it was actually a success! I am so pleased with the way it turned out!

You don't need many supplies-just a wreath form, a glue gun, and coffee filters, lots of coffee filters.

All you do is bunch up the coffee filters in the middle, put a line of glue on the wreath form, and simply stick the filters to it. I held them down for a few seconds before moving to the next row to make sure they would stick.

I ran out of coffee filters the first night I started the project. Who knew that 400 filters wouldn't be enough? Here is how it looked halfway through:

I took some wire and dug a hole in the back of the the styrofoam wreath form and filled the hole with hot glue to keep it from falling out.

I finally finished the next night. I used about 750 coffee filters, 37 1/2 small glue sticks, had three small blisters from how hot the glue got, and spent about 3 1/2 to 4 hours on it total. I feel like it was totally worth it! I love how it turned out!
