This past weekend, Davis and I packed up and drove with Kim and Nick Campbell to Jacksonville to board Carnival's Fascination. We met The Griffins, The Muller-Stones, and The Wages in Tifton to caravan the rest of the way. Let me just say, that was a fun car ride!
Once we finally boarded the ship, the first thing we did was, of course, hit up the buffet! Then, it was time for our training for the life boats. After our bon voyage, we finally got to hit up the pools and slides! After the sun went down, it was time for more eating! Our group had an awesome wait staff Eric. The we decided to hit up the most expensive bingo game I have ever played! Needless to say, that was the only time we played!
Our first full day on the ship was spent at sea. We all enjoyed some more sun, slides, reading, and fruity, frozen drinks! After our day in the sun, we enjoyed some happy hour sushi and some "ICEing." This was our formal/dressy night on the ship. Everyone looked so good in their dressy attire! I was exhausted, but everyone else enjoyed a night at the dance club, Diamonds are Forever.
On Monday, it was time to disembark to Carnival's private island, Half Moon Cay. This was a relaxing day spent on a beautiful beach, and we all enjoyed swimming in the crystal clear water. Monday night was our "White Party" where we all dressed in white attire! We all looked so good, if I have to say so myself! After dinner, we enjoyed some karaoke. There were some great singers out there, but we were definitely the best singing some Celine Dion.
On Tuesday, we docked in Nassau. All of us loaded up on buses and headed over to the Atlantis for a day at the water park. What an amazing place! As soon as we got there, we jumped on as many water slides as we could before some of us enjoyed a Dolphin Experience. Kim, Nick, Maggie, David, Davis, and I swam with the dolphins with an underwater scooter. Then our dolphin, Elijah, pushed us through the water on a boogie board, and we got to be hands on with the dolphins-we fed him a fish and got to rub his belly. I wish they had allowed us to take pictures while we got to do this, but then they couldn't charge us $60 a picture if we took our own! After the dolphin experience, we relaxed on some less intense water slides and not-so-lazy river. While everyone else went back to the ship, Davis and I explored the Atlantis and then hit the casino! We had so much fun (probably because we won a little money, unlike Davis did in the the casino ship).
On Wednesday, the Fascination started heading back towards Jacksonville. We were so sad that this was our last day! The trip had gone by so fast! We decided to get in as much sun and slide time this day! Before the last dinner, we enjoyed a show with lots of singing and dancing. It made you want to get up and dance with the performers! I was so happy to get to celebrate my birthday with everyone while we were on the cruise.
I just want to give a final toast to Brian for such a fabulous trip! Davis and I had so much fun (as I know everyone else did too!). We need to plan to do this every year, and when everyone starts having a family, we can take the kids with us!
