After a year and a half hiatus from the beach, Davis and I decided to head down to PCB this past weekend. The weather couldn't have been any better, although it was a little chilly and very windy.
Davis and I left work a little early on Thursday and headed down. I was dying to get by the pool, but when I finally got out there, I almost froze because the wind wouldn't stop blowing! I finally couldn't stand it anymore, so Davis and I went to do a little shopping and snacking. I had to hit up the Beach Scene in PCB and check out those 25,000 suits, and Davis went to Mr. Surf's Surf Shop for a few suits himself! Then we decided to grab some oysters at The Boat Yard.
Some of our friends came down this weekend too, Jenna and Allan Willcox, Leann McGalliard and Scott Boatright, and Nick and Kim Campbell. When some of the couples arrived, we decided it was best to stay on the boat that night because we certainly didn't need to be driving anywhere. Cops have been so bad down there from what we have heard. We all walked down to the 30 Degree Blue in Bay Point. This restaurant used to be very fancy, but now it is more low key with a much less expensive menu and more variety. There was some wonderful karaoke going on the background!
On Friday, we headed to Baytowne in the boat. LOTS of sun that day!
The guys tried to fish on the way over, but they
didn't have any luck! We did see this guy. He is called a sun fish, and he is absolutely huge and looks like he is laying dead on the surface, but he eventually swam away. I love the ride from Panama City to Destin. Getting to see all of the little villages on 30-A is my favorite part!
Baytowne has added a lot of fun stuff for kids (and adults). They have added a little golfing, where you try to hit the ball into a floating hole in the lake. Zip lining across the lake has also been added. I can't resist trying out a zip line wherever I go, even if I was in a dress! While in Baytowne, we had to get daiquiris from Fat Tuesdays and ate a fabulous dinner at Marlin Grill. We tried so hard to make it out on the town that night, but we were exhausted and only made it to bed that night!
Before heading back to Panama City, we ate a huge breakfast at Another Broken Egg Cafe. YUM! It is by far my favorite breakfast place ever!
Once we got back to Panama City, we all headed over to Leann's condo at Edgewater. We needed some more room after being on the boat for 2 full days and nights! We went to eat at Firefly that night for another huge, but great, dinner. They not only have a full dinner menu, but they have also added sushi. I had to try some of both, and everything I ate was amazing! I don't think I have ever eaten so good, and so much in one weekend! I definitely had a food hangover when I woke up on Sunday morning, and yes, it was definitely from the food, not alcohol!
On Sunday, we all headed to Easter Sunday church at Carillon! I am proud to say that all 8 of us made it to church that day! Davis and I were so excited to see Harry, the preacher that married us 2 1/2 years ago. Church is usually in the chapel, but because of the big crowd, we sat on the village green. It was so great to celebrate Jesus in such a special place on such a beautiful day!
